Barbara Butler, 76, of Bowie, died September 7. Barabara taught English for 10 years in New York and Maryland, then retired to focus on her love of being wife, mother, and homemaker. She love music, playing the piano, games, and old movies. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to either Maryknoll Missionaries (PO Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545) or Little Sisters of the Poor (www.littlesistersofthepoorwashingtondc.org).

Donald Suloman, 66, of Bowie, died September 7. erved in the U.S. Army then worked and retired as a construction superintendent. He was a member of Nantmeal United Methodist Church in Glenmoore, PA, the VFW, American Legion Post 66, Masonic Lodge, and was a DAV lifetime member. 

Peggy Haas, 79, of Bowie, died September 4. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Baptist Haas, Sr. and is survived by her sons, John B. Haas, Jr. (wife Ravey), and Patrick Haas; grandchildren, Pamela L. Segarra, John D. Haas, and Darren Haas; and 4 great grandchildren. Most of her career involved the insurance industry, finally opening up her own “Mom and Pop” style agency in her late forties, which was very successful. After retiring, Peggy pursued her primary talent as an artist, initially with miniature oils and then watercolors, many of which have been displayed in public locations including the MD House of Delegates Building.

Jesse Maness, 82, of Bowie, died September 12. The Maness family will receive friends at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Maryland 20715 on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am, Friday, September 20, 2013 at Ascension Catholic Church, 12700 Lanham-Severn Road, Bowie, Maryland. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

Marylouise Antoinette Frank, of Bowie, died September 4. She was 75. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church or the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry, 3120 Belair Drive, Bowie, MD 20715.
