Man Cut, Stabbed in Murder Attempt on Governor's Bridge Road

A Washington, DC man is being sought in connection with the incident.

Police are seeking a Washington, DC man in connection with a murder attempt on Governor’s Bridge Road Monday.

The victim, a Mitchellville resident, was in the 1600 block of Governor’s Bridge Road Monday afternoon visiting his son. His ex-wife’s boyfriend, Deyon Hampton, approached the suspect in a parking lot wielding a bladed weapon, according to the police report.

Hampton reportedly began cutting and stabbing the victim, resulting in multiple wounds to the victim’s chest and lower torso, police said. The victim also sustained a four inch cut to the left side of his face.

After the assault, Hampton fled on foot and the victim got into his car and drove home where he contacted police. He was later transported to Prince George's County Hospital Center where he was treated for his injuries.

Bowie police obtained an attempted first degree warrant murder in Hampton’s name. Hampton is still at large.
