TJ Elliott's in Bowie Offers Discount to Furloughed Feds

Furloughed workers will be eligible for discounted meals for the duration of the shutdown.

At least one local restaurant is looking to ease the pain of recently furloughed federal workers living in Bowie.

T.J. Elliott's, located at 6814 Laurel-Bowie Rd. in Bowie Plaza, is offering 20% off for residents who are stuck at home courtesy of the government shutdown that began Tuesday. The discount is also available at the College Park Ledo's Restaurant, both of which are owned by Bowie City Councilman Jimmy Marcos (District 1).

"To ease our friends who have been affected by the government shut down, show us your furlough & receive 20% off your bill at T.J. Elliott’s and Ledo's Restaurant in College Park," reads the announcement on the T.J. Elliott's Facebook page

The discount will be valid throughout the duration of the shutdown, and cannot be combined with other offers.
