Profile Tells Story of Devonshire Estates, New Library

The Bowie community was profiled by The Washington Post this week.

A recent neighborhood profile of Devonshire Estates cites residents as saying they enjoy the community amenities and the suburban location within a short drive of the Largo Metro station, according to The Washington Post.

The article also addresses how some residents fought a proposal for a commercial development in front of the entrance to the community and that a library will be built instead on a portion of the land.

Patch previously reported that the South Bowie library is and is slated to open this summer. The 45,000-square-foot, two-story building is a $14.1 million project. It is being built on a 17-acre parcel of land at Central Avenue and Hall Road near the Collington Station and Devonshire Estates neighborhoods, which are adjacent to the Pointer Ridge section of Bowie.
