On the article Facts, Opinion, Frustration at Hearing on BGE Reliability

ReplyHi Brandie,
The other person lives on Fragile Sail Way which is in Columbia. The judge specifically quoted that this hearing was for people that were served by the lines represented by people that had signed the original petition. She had no business testifying as she was NOT on any line that was represented on this petition. She heard the instructions as clearly as everyone else at the hearing, yet chose to testify improperly, anyway. I thank you for the article but would like you to know how serious our situation is. 2-3 day outages cause financial strain, constant surges ruin our electronics, 8-9 day outages are unheard of in the United States, and ignoring our issues is unacceptable. -

ReplyInteresting that this article highlights the two Columbia residents (who have their wires buries) as having no complaints about the company that employs them, whereas the other 300 people that were at the hearing were given short shrift in this article. Please, I was there at the hearing. This is not a good article about what was said at this hearing. Many, many, many articulate Howard County citizens brought up facts, ideas, helpful suggestions and lists of outages that we in the older neighborhoods suffer all the time. A lot more fairness for a very serious subject would be appreciated.

ReplyI agree with Cathy. Reliable electricity for the older neighborhoods in Howard County (that were here before Columbia and do not have buried wires) should come before the walking bridge aeshthetics or the "turf" for high school fields. When are we going to start prioritizing the difference between "needs" that are government funded and "wants" that should be privately funded. My tax are already too high.

ReplyCynthia Vaillancourt is not a Republican. Once again the press did not do their homework. It is unconscionable for Mr Dyer to flagrantly continue to waste our tax dollars in this manner. He was elected to help educate our children, not to work at odds with the very board that he sits on. When will this nonsense stop so that we can go back to meaningful dialogue about EDUCATION.

Where do they get these statistics? The good old press printing what ever they please, once again. I hope our young people learn to think for themselves instead of being led by the nose by the biased media.
