On the article Mistrial Declared in Jason Scott Murder Case

ReplyAnother example of the inept justice system in Prince George's County. Very easy to retry this man when the taxpayers are paying for it! Had the mistrial not occurred, we would not have to pay for two trials. Didn't the States Attorney or the ADA prepare the detective to testify. Don'[t they review the judge's rulings beforhand. Did the ADA not meet with the detective beforhand. In my view, whoever mad the mistake should have to pay a part of the new trial. That might reduce the number of mistrials that occur!

ReplyOne would think/hope that any transmission equipment that could possibly affect thousands of customers would be free from the threat of trees. What are all those treecutters doing along the roads, if not protecting the transformers and lines?

On the article Officers Suspended for "Racially Inappropriate" YouTube Video

ReplyThese officers should have known better than to post a politically inappropriate video on YouTube, but I do not think that they should be fired or even suspended for using poor judgement.Ad meeting with the Human Relations director should suffice. I find it ironic that this situation has mushroomed to a major offense at the same time that a young woman was acquitted of a murder charge after stabbing her roomate to death.

ReplyNobody's fooling anyone with all this discussion about pit bulls. We all know why there are a lot of pit bulls in this county.....BECAUSE of their reputation as a dangerous animal. Our neighbors were very vocal about their "guard dog." They acquired and kept their pit bull in spite of the law against owning them in PG County. When it comes to an animal like this, I don't think we should roll the dice. They can be very dangerous and unpredictable

ReplySurely, now that the criminal case has ended, Ms. Pettigrew's mother can file a civil suit for damages and costs. Ms. Pettigrew had a bright future and nothing the courts can do will bring her back. The sentence was light and the fine minimal.

On the Blog Post BLOG: What the Supreme Court Ruling On Health Care Means for Families in Maryland

It was NOT defined as a tax until the Supreme Court categorized it as a tax. Until that point it was whatever the president wanted it to be. Truly, this isn't about a TAX because most Americans don't pay anywhere near what it takes to live in this amazing country. AS for me, I'd rather see my tax money help ALL Americans get affortdable health care than to watch 80 billion a month be spent on a war in the Middle East that has gained us NOTHING. And yes, that occurred under the previous president's administration.

ReplySHA should have placed a barrier so drivers would be forced into a single lane leading to Show Place Arena. The traffic problem stems from drivers clogging up BOTH lanes and trying to merge. If I were driving to Calvert County and had to contend with this problem every evening, I'd be truly aggravated. Trying to circumvent by driving through the town of Upper Marlboro is even worse.

ReplyThe fact that President Obama spoke candidly and clearly about this highly charged topic during an election year speaks volumes about his exemplary character and integrity. I'm very proud to have a president who is compassionate and stands up for equal rights for ALL Americans.
