ReplyYes Myra! I raised my kids using remedies all year round. They still saw their doctor for well ess visits or if seething seemed serious I would have them checked out!
On one occasion my son was having severe Abdominal pain and I gave him a remedy and by the time we got to the specialist to rule out appendicitis, the pain was completely gone!
But i am an RN snd have the medical background, so it is best to still see a doctor, but when traveling it is great to have these wonderful, gentle healing remedies!
I keep mine in a Tupperware kind of box with a handle, labeled Remedy Tool Kit!

On the Blog Post Reasons People Have Trouble Meditating & Why They Should Give It A Try For At Least 30 Days! Pt. 2 by Amy Reissner Holistic RN

I, too, find that the amazing benefits are so fantastic that I looked for time to do it, even if it is only for 5-10 minutes a day. For me, right before I go to sleep works well. Another way that I fit it in is if I am feeling pressured with an over-flowing to-do list, I then take a break and meditate for 10-15 minutes. What I have found is that I then know exactly what I will do next...the priorities pop up and my day then flows so easily! I hope that suggestion helps! Let me know how you try to fit in the time!

Thanks Lori. I am going to follow up with 2 other articles that I hope you will find equally informative. One will be tips on dealing with end of year School Stress and how to handle it with Holistic and Natural remedies. The other will be recommendations for a Summer Time Tool Box for families when traveling, which I think will come in very handy. This is in addition to a kit with band aides, etc.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Feel free to share with others who are like-minded!

ReplyThanks Myra. I think many women will resonate with the Super Woman/Super Mom complex. Women wear so many hats and have so many varied roles, both those who work inside and outside the home, so there is a tremendous amount of stress. That is why chronic diseases for women have gone up. Heart disease, hypertension, auto-immune illnesses, thyroid issues as well as other endocrine issues, autoimmune disorders etc. The emotional toll is high, especially since women want to be good moms and also want to feel fulfilled as individuals. That is why I love the work that I do...healing, balancing, and coaching women to find their BALANCE. This is still one of my issues today....it is an ongoing process. Women have to learn how to LISTEN to their body/mind/emotional wisdom. That is what I am here to hopefully help them to discover for themselves....how to do just that!

ReplyThanks Myra, women have amazing resilience and abilities to do so many things. It has been my experience both personally and professionally, that the childbearing years are quite profound, both physically and psychologically. The call to tune inwards as our baby gestates is part of the the whole 'creation and creative' process. I think that many women feel pulled when they are pregnant and also working. There are many women who have no choice and must work through their pregnancy. And sometimes, things happen, and one does wonder if one miscarries, was it because of work that may have been to challenging, too physical, too stressful. And yes, mother guilt often follows. I released mine by writing to my departed baby, as well as by painting. Transitions from working to giving birth, is part of the birth process. Many women today, who take maternity leave wait until after they give birth...not recognizing that it is also important to take sometime before the birth, in order to transition into 'Mother' mode. Unfortunately, our society does not, as a whole, unlike many of our European counterparts, understand or give time for this important process.

ReplyMyra, I loved this story. Story-telling is such a vital medium, whether it is oral or in writing. It allows you and others to see who you are, how you came to be, and allows you to remember, recall, and even re-write your personal story. When I say re-write, I mean that when one is ready to look back at childhood 'trauma' or disappointments, as an adult, we can possibly see the whole picture. We might then as you mentioned in your wonderful post, 'forgive' others and ourselves for the incident and finally let it go. I am so glad that you found your 'voice'. I look forward to reading your upcoming blogs!

On the Blog Post When a "Normal/Negative" Mammogram Result is a Lie

ReplyThere are some other tests that women can utilize, two of them are blood tests. I had a breast cancer scare about 8 years ago, after a mammogram and an ultrasound. As a nurse, I had worked in the operating room and had rotated through the breast surgery and plastic reconstruction OR. I did lots of research at the time, as I wanted to determine if there were other tests that were less invasive then a biopsy, as they were not really sure, but felt a biopsy would give them better information. I had a blood test, called an Anti-Serum Malignin Assay. This test, at the time was only given in the state of New Jersey. My doctor wrote up a requisition for the test, which was said to be 99% effective. The test came back negative and I passed on the biopsy, feeling fully safe and sure. Since that time, I have had breast thermographies, (Dr. Mercola's site) which are not covered by insurance. Thermal images reveal hot and cold areas of the breast tissues. The initial thermography covers two procedures. A baseline is taken of both breasts. There is no compression, no radiation exposure, no discomfort. The thermography is reviewed by radiologists and the report is given to your doctor within a week. That is the baseline scan, if you will. Three months later they repeat the procedure in order to make comparisons. The information is quite accurate and amazing, as this type of procedure can catch initial changes in the breast tissue before any malignant changes might occur. Amy Reissner RN
