Although bumblebees are not normally aggressive, their stingers lack barbs so they can sting more than once and will sting to defend their nest or if they are harmed, according to Wikipedia.

What are some other signs of summer you noticed in the past few weeks? Tell us in the comments or add a photo to our gallery by clicking the "Upload Photo & Video" link.

Seeing things a little differently.
I took this photo behind one of the buildings in Free State Mall one day when I was walking my dog with a friend. I've probably walked by this, and plenty of other similar looking structures thousands of times. For some reason, I was drawn to the way the five yellow cement posts were placed when juxtaposed with the metering equipment behind it. Have some abstract photography from around Bowie? Share your photos here!
