A few events happening this weekend in Bowie.
Prince George’s Little Theater’s run of Unnecessary Farce closes this weekend at the Bowie Playhouse with shows at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and a closing matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online here. TNA Impact wrestlers will be at Prince George’s Stadium on Saturday for BaseBrawl, a family-oriented, interactive wrestling event. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 6:30 p.m. for the general public. The action begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online here. Bowie residents have four chances this weekend to catch the Annapolis Shakespeare Company’s production of The Comedy of Errors. Shows are at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Bowie Playhouse, with a 2 p.m. show on Saturday. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for students and seniors. Local theater buffs also can check out the Prince George’s Summer Teen Theatre’s production 30 Reasons Not to Be in a Play at the Charis Center for the Arts this weekend, with shows at 7p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and a show at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online here. The Bowie Baysox take on the Trenton Thunder in their home stand this weekend while hosting their annual family campout at the stadium on Friday. Friday night, July 6, the Bowie Baysox are featuring Date Night at the Diamond. The $20 gets you box seats and other date night events, starting at 7:05 p.m. Buy tickets here. Sears is Bowie is hosting a Saturday Family Fun building workshop on July 7 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Each building kit cost $5 and can be purchased at the event. The city of Bowie is holding the first in their 2012 Saturday Concert Series on July 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Town Green Park. Saturday’s concert will feature funky blues/swing music by the 2nd Story Band. For even more free music, check out the Sunday Sunset Concert Series atAllen Pond on Sunday, July 8. This week will feature the R&B stylings of Allison Taylor. The concert is free to all.
