Mall Draws Hundreds of Early Shoppers
In search of the ultimate deal, shoppers lined up as early as 2 a.m. outside the Westfield Annapolis mall.
Even in a shaky economy, people still shop. Although the country is waiting for a full-fledged economic recovery to take hold, by 5:15 a.m. on Black Friday, the Westfield Annapolis mall was full of shoppers looking for bargains on everything from electronics to clothes. While the mall didn't open until 4 a.m., JCPenney opened its doors at 3 a.m. on Black Friday 2010 to a larger crowd than in 2009. "There were a lot more people here early this year," said Ed Koontz, store manager for the Annapolis JCPenney. "I don't know if there is one thing here that drew people to the store.
