Asheville Police arrested a 16-year-old boy in the fatal stabbing of a Bowie man in North Carolina over the weekend.
A Bowie man was fatally stabbed over the weekend in North Carolina and local authorities have arrested a 16-year-old boy, Asheville police reported. Travis Schoon, 35, of Bowie, was stabbed in the chest around 2:50 a.m. Sunday on North Market Street in Asheville, NC, police reported. According to police, the stabbing occurred outside of a restaurant after an altercation. Although Schoon was transported to a local hospital, he died a short time later, according to police. Danras Damoy Bunsie, 16, surrendered to police overnight, police reported. Bunsie is charged with second-degree murder and assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill. The assault occurred after an argument over dinner escalated.
A Bowie woman was charged with assault last week after stabbing her boyfriend in the shoulder with a fork, according to a police report. On April 19 at around 7 p.m., Bowie police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 16000 block of Pewter Lane. Police say they found the victim, a 47-year-old man, bleeding. The victim told police that he and his girlfriend, Shameka Williams, 32, had been arguing over dinner. The argument escalated and the victim said Williams stabbed him in the shoulder with a fork. Williams was taken into custody and processed without incident. She is being charged with first and second degree assault. The victim was treated on the scene for puncture wounds.

An apparent dispute over an iPod left one Bowie State University student dead Thursday night and a campus community stunned.
