UPDATE: Prince George's After-School Activities Canceled Due to Weather
Much of the region was blanketed Monday by heavy, wet snow.
Update, 12:51 p.m.: All after-school and evening activities at Prince George's County Public Schools have been canceled due to today's inclement weather. Original article: Prince George's County Public Schools are operating under a two-hour delay Monday thanks to a burst of wet, heavy snow that blanketed much of the region overnight. Emergency personnel still must report on time, according to school officials. The following schedule changes are also in effect:

UPDATE: Winter Storm Watch Cancelled; 1-2" Still Possible
Wednesday's system brought a lot of rain—but not much snow—to Bowie.
Update, Wednesday, 3:00 p.m.: The National Weather Service has canceled the winter storm warning for Bowie and much of the surrounding area. Instead, a winter weather advisory is in effect until 9 p.m., with more rain expected and snow accumulations of 1-2" still possible. Temperatures should be in the low- to mid-30s with gusts of up to 35 mph. "Slushy to snow-covered roads combined with temperatures around freezing will produce icy areas," the NWS warns. More Sleet, Snow, and Rain Headed for Bowie
The Friday evening commute could get messy.
Bowie and much of the Baltimore-Washington corridor are in for another dose of mixed precipitation Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Snow and sleet are likely to begin sometime after noon, with a daytime high near 38°. Forecasters say accumulations of under half an inch are possible. Rain and snow are also likely in the evening hours, but the precip is expected to switch over to just rain after midnight. Less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation is forecast, with an overnight low of around 33°. Still more precip—all rain—is likely on Saturday and Saturday evening, with a daytime high of around 42°.

Wintry Weather in the Forecast
No major snow is predicted, but some cold and wet precipitation is predicted to fall in Prince George's County over the next two days.
While no major snow event is forecasted in Prince George’s County this week, there is some wintry weather in our future. According to the National Weather Service, rain mixed with snow and sleet is likely tonight, switching to all rain by 4 a.m. Lows of around 35 degrees are predicted and little to no accumulation is expected. Friday’s weather is predicted to be rainy and foggy, with highs around 45 degrees. The weather will turn cooler and breezy, with winds increasing to 20 to 25 mph after midnight. NWS gives a 30 percent chance of snow overnight, again with little to no accumulation.

Snow Predicted Friday Afternoon
The National Weather Service says there is an 80 percent chance of snow after 3 p.m.
For the second time this week, the National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting snow for Prince George's County. According to the forecast, there is an 80 percent chance that snow will fall sometime after 3 p.m., with accumulations up to one inch. The snow is predicted to continue in the evening, slowing by 10 p.m., blanketing the area with up to another half inch. Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 30s are predicted for Saturday and Sunday.
