Snow Closes PGCPS, Federal Government Wednesday

The Prince George's County government is open with a liberal leave policy in effect.

Udate: 10:30 a.m.: Bowie State University is now closed for the day on Wednesday Original story: Prince George's County Pubic Schools (PGCPS) are closed and all after-school activities canceled on Wednesday due to a snowstorm predicted to dump between five and ten inches of snow in the region.  PGCPS are operating under a Code Yellow, which requires only emergency employees to report as scheduled.  The Prince George's County Government will remain open Wednesday, with liberal leave for all non-essential employees, but Prince George's County District Court is closed for the day. Prince George's Schools Dismiss Early

Advancing snowstorm forces early dismissal in Prince George's County.

Prince George's County Public Schools will be dismissing two hours early on account of an approaching snowstorm. All afternoon and evening classes are also cancelled. There is one exception: the Prince George's County Public Schools Before and After School Extended Learning Program will be closing at 4 p.m.  The National Weather Service is forecasting an 80 percent chance of snowfall later this afternoon, with wintry precipitation beginning after 3 p.m. and continuing into the evening.

It is not about the little darlings being out in a drift. It is about the crazy driver that loses control and rams into a school bus and severly injures one of the little darlings. I for one am glad the county takes a proactive approach to the problem and legal issues that may arise. And guess who would have to pay a monotary legal judgement? Yes the taxpayers. Snow Puts Pr. George's Schools on 2-Hour Delay

Faculty, staff and students in Prince George's County's public schools get to sleep in a bit today, courtesy of the overnight winter weather.  In an email alert, school officials announced that offices and schools will be operating on a two-hour delay today. Here's the announcement in full: Prince George's Cunty Public Schools will operate under a two hours delay today due to emergency weather conditions. This includes all schools, offices and programs.
