Bowie High Student Faces Weapons Possession Charges

A 15-year-old boy faces charges after bringing a BB gun onto school property last week.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested last week and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon after he brought a BB gun onto school property at Bowie High School, according to a police report. Bowie police responded to the report of a suspicious person carrying a weapon on Scarlet Oak Terrace on the morning of Nov. 7, and were unable to locate the suspect, the report said. Police said the caller then reported that the suspect attended Bowie High School, so police went to that location where they saw a suspect matching the caller’s description. The suspect was detained by the school resource officer without incident and police found a BB gun in his bag, according to the report.
