Two people were arrested Saturday on drug-related charges after a police officer detected a strong marijuana odor coming from the car he'd just pulled over for a traffic stop in Crofton. According to Anne Arundel County police, the incident occurred Saturday at about 9 p.m. when an officer stopped a Volkswagen Jetta on Route 3 South near South Main Chapel Way. After searching the car and its occupants, police seized 44 grams of suspected marijuana worth $440. Police arrested and charged Daniel Enrenrique Olaya, 29, of the 11000 block of Fruitwood Drive in Bowie and Victoria Allison Boyer, 32, of the 13000 block of Mount Oak Court in Mitchellville, with multiple drug-related offenses.

Police were responding to a breaking and entering call on Antler Court South when they made the discovery.
A Bowie man is facing criminal charges after police allegedly found $6,560 worth of marijuana and a stolen 9mm handgun Wednesday night in a shed on Antler Court South. Norman Patrick McClain, 22, is facing 12 separate charges stemming from the discovery. According to Bowie police, officers responded to the 2700 block of Antler Court South late Wednesday when a resident reported that someone was trying to break into a neighbor’s shed. Once on the scene, officers found that the shed was locked from the outside and appeared undisturbed. But when they noticed a strong marijuana odor coming from the shed, police asked the homeowner for permission to conduct a search. An Anne Arundel County police officer arrested a Bowie man and two teens after a strong marijuana odor emanated from their car, according to police.
Police arrested an adult from Bowie and two juveniles from Prince George’s County in Edgewater on Friday on drug-related charges, according to a statement. Arrested was Daniel Roberto Acevedo, 18, of the 2900 block of November Court in Bowie, charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Friday evening an officer checked an occupied Ford Mustang stopped in the area of Hillside Drive and East Central Avenue in Edgewater. As the officer approached the car, “an overwhelming smell of suspected marijuana” emanated from the vehicle, police said. Police searched the vehicle and found 80.4 grams of marijuana with a street value of about $804, drug paraphernalia…
