Arrest Made in Bowie Burglary

Police traced a stolen laptop computer at a pawn shop.

A Bowie man was arrested by the Prince George’s County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday and is facing charges in connection with a May 2012 burglary. According to the sheriff’s department, Bowie police obtained a warrant for Nicholas E. Scott, 22, after he allegedly stole a laptop computer from a home in the 14000 block of Darbydale Lane in Bowie on May 2, 2012. Bowie police obtained the warrant after investigating pawn shop records and finding that the stolen laptop had been pawned by Scott at a shop in Landover on May 14, police said. Sheriff's deputies investigating Scott learned his whereabouts to be in the 3300 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Bladensburg. Bowie Police Looking for Suspect in Attempted Armed Robbery

A cab driver from Greenbelt was assaulted in a Bowie neighborhood during an attempted robbery, according to reports.

Bowie Police have issued a warrant for a man in connection with an attempted robbery and assault in a neighborhood near the intersection of Routes 197 and 50. Around 1:30 p.m. on May 24, Bowie Police received a call from a cab driver in the 14800 block of London Lane. Three men tried to rob the driver after calling him for a ride, according to reports from police. The driver, a man from Greenbelt, said he was called to the address where he was approached by three men. One man showed him a black handgun and demanded money. When the driver refused, he was punched in the face by one of the men, before the three fled into a nearby wooded area, according to Bowie Police Chief John Nesky.
