A Bowie man was arrested by the Prince George’s County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday and is facing charges in connection with a May 2012 burglary. A cab driver from Greenbelt was assaulted in a Bowie neighborhood during an attempted robbery, according to reports.
Bowie Police have issued a warrant for a man in connection with an attempted robbery and assault in a neighborhood near the intersection of Routes 197 and 50. Around 1:30 p.m. on May 24, Bowie Police received a call from a cab driver in the 14800 block of London Lane. Three men tried to rob the driver after calling him for a ride, according to reports from police. The driver, a man from Greenbelt, said he was called to the address where he was approached by three men. One man showed him a black handgun and demanded money. When the driver refused, he was punched in the face by one of the men, before the three fled into a nearby wooded area, according to Bowie Police Chief John Nesky.
