Calling all thespians! Auditions begin today for the Annapolis Shakespeare Company’s next production, Cymbeline, at the Bowie Playhouse. All experienced actors are welcome and should prepare two contrasting monologues from any of Shakespeare’s works to audition for a principal role, and one monologue in verse to audition for a ensemble role. Advanced student actors ages 13-18 also are invited to audition, though there will be a workshop fee of $300 if cast in a role. Bowie thespians are in luck this week because 2nd Star Productions has rescheduled auditions for its fall production, “Bloody Murder.” The last chance to audition for this British murder mystery is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bowie Playhouse. PGSTT is seeking actors ages 12 through 20 for this summer's production.
Calling all teen-age thespians! Prince George's Summer Teen Theatre (PGSTT) is seeking cast members between the ages of 12 and 20 for Alan Haehnel’s 30 Reasons Not to Be in a Play. Auditions will be held next week on Monday, June 4 and Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. at the Charis Center for the Arts in 13010 8th Street Bowie, MD 20720. Callbacks will take place on Wednesday, June 6th at 7 p.m. Actors are encouraged to bring their schedules and to be prepared to declare any conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. Rehearsals will begin on June 11 and be held Mondays through Thursdays at 7 p.m. each week at the Charis Center. The registration deadline for the Bowie Blue Jays high school summer fastpitch softball program, Maryland Blue Angels, is May 23. The program is targeted at experienced female softball players in high school graduating classes 2013 through 2016 and will feature games and skills clinics from June 2 through July 22. The comedic play follows the on and off stage antics of a performing troupe.Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Aspiring actors and actresses, today is your last chance to audition for the Bowie Community Theater production of Love, Sex, and the IRS. Auditions will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Bowie Playhouse. They are casting three to four women and four to five men, ages 20 to 30 and 40 to 65.
