Teens Robbed at Gunpoint Near Scarlet Oak Terrace

The suspect made off with two cellphones and $15 in cash, according to police.

Two teens were robbed at gunpoint near Scarlet Oak Terrace and Annapolis Road in Bowie on Thursday afternoon, according to police. Bowie police arrived at the scene at around 3 p.m. on May 2 where they found two 15-year-old Bowie residents, a boy and a girl, who reported they been robbed at gunpoint. The victims told police that a man approached them, brandishing a semi-automatic handgun and demanding their belongings. The teens gave the robber an iPhone, a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and $15 in cash. The robber then escaped on a bike trail near the location of the robbery, according to police. Police Nab Armed Robbery Suspect After High-Speed Chase

The chase ended when the suspect was involved in a single vehicle motorcycle crash on Interstate 495, according to police.

Bowie police nabbed an armed robbery suspected on Thursday following a high-speed chase that spanned several miles and ended with a single-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 495, according to a police report. The police give this account: Just after 9 p.m. on May 2, a Bowie police officer was conducting a routine check at Pointer Ridge Plaza. Employees of the Pizza Hut flagged the officer down and told him they had just been robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing motorcycle helmet, grey sweatpants and a black jacket. Bowie Crime: Armed Robbery on Aspen Hill Drive

A Bowie man was held at gunpoint and robbed outside of his home on April 18.

A 21-year-old man was assaulted robbed at gunpoint outside of his Bowie home in the early morning hours of April 18, according to a police report. Bowie police responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 17100 block of Aspen Leaf Drive shortly after midnight on April 18.   At the scene, the victim told police that he was parking his car on the street in front of his house when he was approached by two male suspect. One suspect approached the passenger’s side and one approached the of the driver’s side of the vehicle. The first suspect, who was beside the driver’s side of the car, produced a shotgun and aimed it at the victim, demanding money and other property, police said. Teens Robbed at Gunpoint on Dennington Drive

No injuries were reported in the holdup.

Four Bowie teens were robbed at gunpoint while sitting in a parked car outside of a home in the 14000 block of Dennington Drive, according to a police report. According to Bowie police, five boys ages 17-19 were sitting in the car around 4 p.m. on April 5 when a second vehicle pulled up behind them. Four men exited the second vehicle and approached the victims’ car, brandished an unknown caliber handgun, and demanded the victims’ valuables. The victims reported that they handed over their belongings and fled the scene in their car. Bowie police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. No injuries were reported.

Man Charged in Bowie Armed Robbery

Police say Ernesto Rodriguez, 24, brandished a gun to steal cash from Hunan Gardens.

Police say a local man was arrested Wednesday and charged with an armed robbery at Hunan Gardens, a Chinese restaurant on Mt. Oak Road. Bowie police gave this account of the incident:  Police responded to a call for an armed robbery at Hunan Gardens at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The restaurant manager gave a description of the suspect, who he said brandished a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.  The suspect took the money and fled the scene in a red SUV, according to the report. A Bowie police unit recognized the description of the suspect know subject they had recently seen in the area. Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Peach Walker Drive

The victim sustained minor injuries.

A Mitchellville man was robbed at gunpoint on Peach Walker Drive in Bowie on Friday, according to the Bowie police.  Police responded to a call for a robbery at the 15000 block of Peach Walker Drive at around 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The victim, a 27-year-old man, told police that he was walking through a field when he was approached by a man with a handgun. The suspect demanded the victim’s possessions, and then began striking the victim, according to the police report. Following the assault, the suspect fled on foot down a bike path with the victim’s possessions. Police secured the scene and a K-9 unit conducted a search of the area, but they were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was treated for multiple contusions and the case …

Bowie Crime: Commercial Burglary, Armed Robbery

A quick roundup of recent unusual crime reports from the Bowie police department.

The Crain Highway Sunoco Station was burglarized and two Bowie residents were robbed at gunpoint on Mitchellville Road, according to recent Bowie police reports. Commercial Burglary On Jan. 20 at 6 a.m., Bowie police fielded a call for a burglary at the Sunoco Gas Station located at 14000 Crain Hwy. Police gave this account of the incident: Bowie police officers arrived on the scene and were led by the reporting person to a shattered glass entrance/exit door, with a large rock laying on the floor in the glass. Suspects were no longer on the scene but it was discovered that several cartons of cigarettes, individual packs of cigarettes, air fresheners and beverages were missing from the establishment. Teens Robbed at Gunpoint on Excalibur Court

Several personal belongings were taken, but no injuries were reported.

Two teens were allegedly robbed at gunpoint last Friday on the 3700 block of Excalibur Court while they were taking out the trash, according to a Bowie police report. The report states that the victims, ages 16 and 18, were taking out the trash some time after 8 p.m. on Friday when two men approached them. One of the men produced a handgun and told the victims to get down on their knees and close their eyes, according to police. Police said the victims were then searched by the suspects, who took an EVO HTC cellphone, a Chicago Bulls fitted baseball cap, an iPhone 4 cellphone and a set of house keys before fleeing in an unknown direction. Armed Robbery Reported on Old Chapel Road

Two suspects stole a man's jacket and struck him in the head with an unknown object, according to police.

A 22-year-old Glenn Dale resident reported an armed robbery on the 14600 block of Old Chapel Road Sunday night, according to a police report. Bowie police responded to the armed robbery call at 9:35 p.m. Sunday. The victim told police that while he was walking, to men approached him from the side, demanding money. When the victim told the suspects he had no money, they demanded his North Face jacket, according to police. The suspects took the victims jacket and struck him with an unknown object that caused a laceration, states the report. Officers did stop two possible suspects in a vehicle a short time after the report, but they were identified and released. This case remains under investigation.
