Dear burglars and home invaders, please be advised that I keep my doors and windows locked to keepRead More me from harming you. If you don't heed my warnings, I'll call 911, but they'll just investigate and photograph the crime scene. There will not be a reason to rush you to the ER.

Karla Yeager Loughead April 23, 2014 at 02:41 PM I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.Read More You come in my house and I'll defend it. 8 Recommend I find that a lot of conservatives have problems with black-and-white thinking. It's sad that kill or be killed are the only possibilities you can imagine. I hope your distorted thought patterns never lead you to do anything to ruin your own life or anyone else's.

This harridan should have been disbarred, and held for obstruction charges after the Vince FosterRead More affair. She had his office sealed. She broke the law.She did not have the authority to do that. She was a do nothing Senator, and an incompetent, criminally negligent Secretary of State.

She is "central" in giving the USA the reputation they have now---"step over that redRead More line and I will deny that I said that"

Cops got a chance to play with their toys. Relax people. It's not like you had to respondRead More personally. Stop saying it's a waste of money. Then money is absolutely minimal. These guys were not called away from their golf games. I would also like to compliment the responders for not accidentally killing someone. It showed professionalism and did not add to the "trend" of killing "innocent" people; which is becoming an issues to watch. The people incensed over this should focus their anger on plastic shopping bags as many others are doing over at another great Patch piece. Evil lurks at the checkout counters across America!

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Michigan's ban on affirmative action in college admissions.
Jeanne April 23, 2014 at 02:09 pm
Wouldn't the fairest admission to University be judged completely by scholastic ability ? ThatRead More would mean not accepting students because of sex, color, class, ethnicity, or prior connection to the school. The college population might become a little "lopsided," but wouldn't the result be more intelligent young people to go on to graduate school ? America, and the general public would benefit because in our midst would be the best scientists, doctors, instructors, etc. for us to call upon ? Our country would become stronger still, which seems to become more urgent with every passing day.

Black Panther, the music industry? Really? You consider a bunch of misogynist, foul mouth rappersRead More "innovative and talented"? Where do you live?
"The Black Panther of Poetry" April 23, 2014 at 03:26 pm
Kevin, yes the music Industry!!!! Really? Rock and Roll is an African-American prodigy. YourRead More Beatles and your Elvis(king of Rock and Roll, lol) and your Rolling Stones are just USURPERS and MALEFACTORS of that which was and is from THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN experience. For me to explain this to you and your like, speaks volumes about who and what I am dealing with and who really in the end will need AFFIRMATIVE ACTION!!!!

This guy is sick and needs to be taken out of society forever. Only a coward takes advantage of aRead More disabled person who cannot defend herself. Lock him up and throw the key in the Chesapeake. There is no rehabilitation for a sexual predator. He will continue to be a cowardly sexual predator if left on the streets. If he tries that stuff in prison, he will be signing his death certificate. The inmates are gonna punish him just for being the twisted pervert he is, regardless if he tries it on them. Say hello to protective custody you sicko. He deserves a good throat slashing and feces rubbed into the wounds for maximum infection!!!
Diane in Odenton April 23, 2014 at 12:20 pm
"After the complaints, drivers underwent more training on how to deal with the public."Read More This sounds absolutely absurd to me. You have to TRAIN the drivers to not sexually assault their disabled passengers??!!
Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.

Stating that the history books are anti US and pro global without any proof is very misleading. WhenRead More I was going to school we had classes about world history and separate classes about US history. So of course some textbooks about the history of the world might not mention the United States. It didn't exist yet.

Comments like "back when I was in school" are completely laughable. I don't brag aboutRead More beating my kid in a foot race because I'm faster then he is. So why should me being able to solve a math problem faster then him mean that the new way doesn't work? I've been using math for decades and he'll be just beginning to learn it. Of course I'm going to know the answer before him. Also, what's wrong with setting higher standards for our kids? When I was in school my "reading and basic learning level" was always a grade or two above my actual grade level. It's easier for them to learn new things when they are younger then it is when they're older.

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! This is not going to be PC. However, so many parents of disabled children want their kids to beRead More mainstreamed or with "typical" peers. First, this gives a disabled person the message that they are not good enough, and there is a better group of kids to asipire to hang around. Many typical kids are kind, many don't want to be bothered and some are downright mean. Secondly, it gives the disabled child less time to develop true friendships with his disabled peers. Kids are kids, and lonely disabled kids should not even be a part of this equation. Parents need to face reality and pair them together and start to celebrate their children for who they are. I am the grandparent of a special needs 10 year old wonderful child, so I know from experience.

If Bush were my daughter, I would seriously tell her to commit suicide. I normally would neverRead More suggest such an awful thing to someone, but she is a clearly very sick, twisted individual and there is no amount of counseling or drugs that's going to fix her.

I don't believe this kid is competent enough to make those decisions. Those kids need to beRead More prosecuted to the fullest and if the does judge does not agree he needs to step down.

Sorry, Autistic boy, but there are a multitude of crimes here. These so called 'friends' abused youRead More terribly ~ called 'bullying', & that alone cannot be tolerated. Then, there is animal cruelty involved, another terrible crime, plus, harassment of all kinds, leudness, & who knows what else. These 'friends' need to be charged & made aware of the seriousness of their deeds, punished accordingly & helped through proper mental councelling.

Sorry but people make choices, he made the choice to take the drugs. He obviously came from aRead More family that was well off and went to a good high school. It's sad but too many people go down that path. I think the government is making a mistake legalizing pot, scientists just came out with a study that it does change the brain. Where did he start ?

I agree with B. Dub 100%! How was this kid able to scale a fence and just walk right over to theRead More plane? TSA: for all the harassing you do in the terminal...you ain't all that!! As far as the kid being a runaway..maybe he does face some serious abuse issues at home. He's damn lucky to be alive. But, I raised three boys, and a 16 year old boy can runaway for any collage of reasons. My kids never ran away but, I'm wondering if the fact that the plane was going to HAWAII has anything to do with it. It sounds a little compulsive to me. CPA need good follow up on this. Thank you lucky stars kid!

There are two separate issues here. The first and certainly the most obvious is security failure.Read More The second is to determine what is in the best interest of the teen, as well as the public.. He needs a psych eval, at the very least. Then again, so does most of the public.
