All depends on what you believe to be true. I have heard that his wife could barely stand up, wasRead More beating on him, and spit in his face. If all that is true (and none of us knows the whole story), then, yeah, I might overreact too. Especially if I had been drinking also. Does not make me a serial abuser.
MR July 24, 2014 at 06:19 pm
This was not a "mistake" on his part. He made the CHOICE to hit her, rather than removeRead More himself from the situation. So let's stop re-defining the word "mistake".

None of you know what actually happened so stop crucifying the man based upon speculation. I knowRead More the NFL is full of thugs and Ray Rice may be one of them, but we don't know for sure.

A Laurel girl was repeatedly raped by a convicted sex offender and a 19-year-old who posed as father and son, according to police. File|Patch
LevelheadedOne July 24, 2014 at 08:40 am
*Kim Cooke- I think that Bill Howard's "liberal" reference was to the judges poor decisionRead More to be loose and easy on the sex offender...not his politics. But more importantly- these slime balls shouldn't be allowed back into society without castration. These are two evil, vile people who planned and plotted against a young woman. This makes me angry, they better not get away with this. Our jails are full, it's expensive to house these criminals for years- so just cut off their genitals and make it impossible for them to do it again. The punishment fits the crime.
Crime Solver July 24, 2014 at 02:57 pm
It is unfortunate what this young girl endured at the hands of these sick men that preyed upon herRead More and I hope she gets the long term therapy and resources she needs to effectively cope with the trauma.

Bryan- critical thinking should not be defined as displaying an ability to perform as expected. ItRead More should be analytical and improvisational. That, however, leads to students challenging their instructors and is time consuming. It also demands instructors with hubris. Thinking is also critical in areas other than math. I cede the point that I am not currently involved in the process yet have extensive experience dealing with the product of the system. I see no current evidence that there is any ability to problem solve in the education system. There is an ability to follow procedure as taught, not critique or improvise. Our foreign educated employees have much better skills in those areas.

Mike, just think about it What PRIVATE business do we have in Maryland? Under Armour, a fineRead More company. Do they make all their clothing in the US? McCormick - they package and combine spices and flavorings, often imported, and are thinking of moving elsewhere. Johns Hopkins, which researches many things for the government. A handful of bio/chemical companies - that often are bought out by companies domiciled elsewhere when they reach a certain size. Several companies that shuffle money around. Headquarters of several large defense contractors - mostly in Montgomery County, close to the federal money teat. Other than that, what? No large companies that MAKE things. Baltimore ranks as the country's largest branch office town. The state is a nice place to live, but not very exciting - except for the chance of dying violently. I'm a native, by the way.

I'm not defending these people by no means but it is so hard dealing with one autistic person andRead More for them to deal with two? In NJ once a person reaches 21 they are aged out of the "system". What happens when autistic children become adults? No programs for parent of autistic adults, no help! Nobody unless you have experienced it yourself understands............ People who are parents of autistic adults needs tons of help, they become desperate because they don't have any options.
sonia stewart July 24, 2014 at 09:28 pm
It's very easy to condemn the parents and make cracks about them being on drugs. I was a marriedRead More adult when I had my children and Thank God they were all healthy, just active. I had more than enough challenges raising them to be responsible adults. I really can't judge those parents. I know there are plenty of programs out there that are overwhelmed or are no more than a nice name with no substance about them. There are people out there who are fearful of their children. They don't know when they'll hurt themselves or maybe burn down the house.

I think people are jumping to conclusions here. He apparently parked in a parking garage. Granted,Read More five hours is too long and he should just be considered a bad son, but he really didn't do anything illegal. Sure she was incoherent when the police first questioned her. She's 98 years old and was asleep when they started questioning her. How many of us make a lot of sense when we first wake up? My 83-year-old is just now complaining about being cold and I have the airconditioning turned up to 78. Older people can deal with heat a little better, apparently. I bet the mother was doing just fine until the "good" citizen decided she wasn't. But it's good that they called her son.

What Roger said. And there are plenty of places where you can "pick your own," so youRead More know exactly where the produce came from. No reason to buy produce in a super market during the summer.
Bob Higginbotham July 23, 2014 at 07:32 pm
If I recall correctly "organic" means they were fertilized with "natural"Read More compounds. Beside being cheaper, I think I prefer my consumables to be fertilized with nitrates, etc. that are made by artificial means. They are guaranteed to be pure without any chance of contaminants.
