Pointer Ridge Elementary School is located in South Bowie, in the P-section on Parkington Drive. The school first opened its doors in December of 1971, serving as an outlet for the then overcrowded Tall Oaks Elementary School. The school has since added some classrooms and now serves children in grades pre-K through 5. The principal of Pointer Ridge Elementary is Mrs. Mary Stephenson, and the vice principal is Ms. Linda Schroth.
