Free Senior Caregiver Workshop in Bowie Saturday

Priority registration for the workshop will be given to Bowie residents.

Get help navigating the journey of caring for aging parents or adult children at a free workshop for local residents Saturday in Bowie.

The workshop—entitled It’s a Family Affair: Family and Community Working Together— is being hosted by Family Restoration and Healing Center and is funded by a grant from the City of Bowie Community Outreach Committee. It is targeted at seniors, caregivers and first responders living in and around Bowie. 

The workshop will address the financial, legal, emotional and housing challenges faced by seniors and their caregivers, as well as offering tips managing behavioral episodes related to Alzheimer's and dementia. There will also be representatives from the Bowie Police Department and the county police department on hand to offer tips on dealing with seniors in emergency situations. 

The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 13106 Annapolis Rd. in Bowie. Space is limited, and priority registration is given to Bowie residents.
