Veterans Day Deals Around Bowie

A few places veterans and active duty military personnel can get a free meal near Bowie.

Monday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day, and a number of local restaurants are saluting veterans, military service men and women, and their families by offering local discounts, specials and promotions. Here's a guide to specials in Bowie and the surrounding area.

Two important notes:

  • Most companies require some form of military ID. These include: a Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired), Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Drivers License with Veterans Designation, a photograph in uniform, you in uniform (if your service permits), Veterans Organization Card (e.g., American Legion and VFW), DD214, discharge paperwork, or other form of identification. Other restaurants and companies may go by the honor system.
  • Always call ahead to verify locations, times, and participation. Many of the listed companies are franchises and may have different policies.

    • Friendly's—free breakfast, Monday: All active military and veterans that present military ID or honorable discharge card will receive a free Big Two Do Breakfast and coffee during breakfast hours only. Applicable on dine-in only until 11 a.m.
    • Applebee’s—free meal, Monday:For the fifth year in a row, Applebee's will a free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2013. There will be seven entrées to choose from, beverage and gratuity not included. Military ID or proof of service required.
    • Chili’s (Bowie)—free meal, Monday: Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of seven meals. This offer is available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 11, 2013 at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included. Chili's will also donate 10 percent of the cost of your meal on Nov. 10 to the Wounded Warrior Project with the presentation of this flyer upon payment. 
    • Outback Steakhouse—free Bloomin’ Onions and a beverage , Monday: Outback Steakhouse is honoring America’s military veterans by offering active duty military and veterans a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2013. This offer is available to Military Personnel with ID. Military mates will also receive 10 percent off November 12, 2013 to December 31, 2013.
    • The Olive Garden—free entrée, Monday: Offer good for veterans and active duty military, on Monday, November 11 during regular business hours. Chose from a special menu; all entrées include freshly baked garlic sticks and choice of soup or salad. Offer good in US and Canada, proof of service required.
    • Longhorn Steakhouse—free Texas Tonion and beverage, Monday through Thursday: Offer good for veterans and current service members Monday, November 11 through Thursday, November 14. Alcoholic beverages excluded.
    • On the Border—free meal, Monday: Veterans and active duty military can choose an meal from the "Create Your Own Combo" menu Monday, November 11, 2013.
    • Red Robin—free Tavern Double Burger, Monday: Offer good for veterans and active duty military, for a free Tavern Double Burger and bottomless steak fries on Monday, November 11, 2013.
    • Texas Roadhouse—free lunch, Monday: Offer good for retired, active duty or former military personnel. Free lunch will be valid from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013.
    • T.G.I Friday's—free lunch, Monday: Veterans and active duty military can get a free lunch from a select menu on Monday, November 11, 2013.
