CCPC Theater Troupe: Children of Eden

  • Where:  Christian Community Presbyterian Church, 3120 Belair Drive, Bowie
  • When:  Friday, June 28, 7 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 7 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2 p.m.
  • Description:  CCPC Theater Troupe presents Children of Eden, a musical from the composer of Wicked.  Directed by Linda Miller, Musical Direction by Susan Ricci-Rogel.
  • Cost: $10 adults, $8 students and seniors.

Hollywood Farmers' Market Grand Opening

  • Where:  Hollywood Shopping Center (next to REI), 9801 Rhode Island Ave, College Park
  • When:  Saturday, June 29, 8 a.m.
  • Description:  This resident-organized farmers' market in North College Park offers fresh local produce, coffee and tea (by the bag and by the cup), baked goods, free-range meat and eggs, plants, jewelry, and other crafts.
  • Cost:  Free

Montpelier Summer Concert Series

  • When:  Friday, June 28, 7:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Free concert at Montpelier Mansion.
  • Cost: Free

St. Nicholas Community Yard Sale

  • Where:  9603 Contee Road, Laurel
  • When:  Saturday, June 29, 9 a.m.
  • Description:  Huge community yard sale.  Hosted from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. rain or shine.
  • Cost:  Free

Animal Crackers

  • Where:  The Puppet Co. Playhouse, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo
  • When:  Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Visitors are invited to see a puppet show of Hobey Hound on the hoop trapeze, Donna Dodo the ring juggler, Carmen the performing bear, and a chorus line of lambs in an old-fashioned vaudeville show.  The Tiny Tots program is designed for our youngest theater patrons, ages 0-4. 
  • Cost: $5

Country Breakfast

  • Where:  811 5th St Laurel
  • When:  Sunday, June 30, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Description:  Country Breakfast Fundraiser from 8:30 – 11:30am. The event will be held at the Laurel Police Department’s Partnership Activity Center.  All proceeds will go to help fund your Independence Day Celebration which will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013. The menu will include eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, coffee, juice, milk and water.
  • Cost: Adults: $8 and $4 kids 4 – 10 years of age. Kids 3 and under will eat free.

Ford EcoBoost Challenge

  • Where:  1600 Fedex Way Landover
  • When:  Saturday, June 29, 9 a.m.
  • Description:  Visitors are invited to stop by the Ford EcoBoost Challenge at FedEx Field for your chance to have an all-access drive experience.
  • Cost:  Free

"Dance to the Center of the Earth"

  • Where:  St. Andrew’s Church, 4512 College Ave, College Park
  • When:  Saturday, June 29, 7 p.m.
  • Description:  New Chicago Dance Studio's presents: "Dance to the Center of the Earth" Based on Jules Verne's classic novel, a scientist and her niece find a mysterious scroll, which leads them on a fantastic journey told through dance. This annual recital features students from New Chicago Dance Studio, showing off their jazz, tap, and ballet technique.
  • Cost:  $12/adults. $10/students and seniors. Kids age 5 and under are free.
