Do Cars Stop At The 11th Street Stop Sign?

The ebb and flow of traffic at the 11th Street intersection in Old Town Bowie.

After hearing that the Maryland State Highway Association removed some supplemental signs from the stop signs at the 11th Street intersection, it got me wondering, "Are cars stopping when turning right at 11th Street?"

SHA removed the sign after determining it was not listed in the State or Federal Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

So, being a multimedia journalist, I decided to grab some video of the intersection to see what was going on.

I shot the video around 2:30 p.m. on a Friday. It was a bit of a mixed bag, with some folks stopping at the stop sign, some pausing, and some rolling right on through.

What has been your experience at this intersection since SHA removed the supplemental sign advising drivers they need not stop if turning right? By law, these drivers should come to a complete halt prior to turning.
