Summer's First Heatwave Blasts Through Bowie

Here's a look at the week's forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

This week’s forecast is fairly straightforward. Sunny and Hot. That’s about it. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), today marks the first day of what will be “the first heat wave of the summer,” as we haven’t seen a 95-degree day since last September.

We’ll see temperatures approaching 100 degrees and few clouds – which means little shade, so stay hydrated, stay covered or stay inside with the air conditioning.

Monday’s, temperatures will reach the mid-90s by about 3 p.m. Skies should be sunny and, according to the heat index, temperatures will feel closer to 100 degrees by mid-day. There is a slight chance of rain tonight, when temperatures drop to the mid-70s.

Tuesday, expect the same, mid-90s temperatures and the same 100-degree-feeling with the heat index. Temperatures will drop to the mid-70s, and there’s no rain in Tuesday night’s forecast.

Temperatures are expected to creep up a bit Wednesday, to the high-90s under clear, sunny skies. Temperatures will drop to the high-70s at night.
