Video: Bowie Varsity Girls Defeat Oxon Hill 68-40, Will Face Wise in Championship Saturday

#1 Seed Bowie Lady Bulldogs defeated #4 Oxon Hill Lady Clippers 68-40 on Thursday Night. Bowie will face #2 Wise in the Championship Game at Wise High School Saturday, March 5th at 6 PM in the MD 4A South Girls Varsity Basketball Playoffs

The Bowie Lady Bulldogs prevailed yet again in front of their home crowd, by beating Oxon Hill 68-40 in the playoff semifinals.

It was the last home game at Bowie, and its trio of seniors all contributed.

Amara Mbionwu had 12 points, Linnel Macklin scored 19 and Keyana Tate had 16.

Oxon Hill Senior Jessica Long impressed all by scoring 31 of her team's 40 total points.

Bowie will face Wise Saturday at 6 p.m. at Wise High School for the 2011 Maryland 4A South Girls Varsity Basketball Championship.

Bowie and Wise played each other twice during the regular season, with Bowie winning both games. February 1st, Bowie won at Wise 55-40 and February 15th Bowie defeated Wise at home by a score of 48-35.

Bowie has a record of 24-3, and was undefeated at home this year (12-0).
