Manny Machado to Debut With Orioles

The former Baysox shortstop was called up to the majors Wednesday and is expected to play third base against the Royals tonight.

After being called up by the Orioles just one day ago, former shortstop Manny Machado is expected to make his major league debut tonight as the team faces off against the Royals.

The 20-year-old will start for the O’s on third base and batting ninth in the lineup tonight, according the Baltimore Sun.

Machado was the third overall pick in the 2010 draft and according to an Orioles press release, he was batting .266/.352/.438 with 11 homers, 26 doubles, five triples, 48 walks and 13 stolen bases for the Baysox.
