Mahoney's Early HR Helps Bowie Beat Harrisburg
Three-run shot in first inning gives Baysox lead for good en route to 6-2 victory
Joe Mahoney's three-run homer in the first gave Bowie the lead for good, and the Baysox rolled to a 6-2 victory over Harrisburg Wednesday night.
Mahoney's one-out shot in the first put the Baysox in front, 3-0, and they never trailed again. The Senators got two runs off Bowie starter Zach Britton in the first three innings before Ronnie Welty's RBI double in the fourth made it 4-2.
Britton gave up two runs on four hits in four innings, working his way back into form to go back to the Orioles later this month.

But Brandon Waring and Pedro Florimon added back-to-back RBI singles in the eight to give Bowie some insurance.
The Baysox are now 52-43 and 3 1/2 games behind Harrisburg in the Western Division. They won two of three road games in Harrisburg.
