The Baysox would probably have to win all of their remaining games to have any shot at first place, but they got a break when Richmond lost again, and Bowie has a 1 1/2-game lead over the Flying Squirrels for the final playoff spot in the Western Division.

If the Baysox went 5-5 over their last 10 games, Richmond would have to go 7-3 just to catch them, so Bowie's in a good position.
Joe Mahoney's sixth-inning solo homer gave Bowie a 5-2 lead in this game, but Erie rallied for five runs in the bottom of the eighth against three Baysox pitchers to get the win.
