Erie Tops Baysox, 10-2

Bowie holds on to first place despite loss on Saturday night.

Erie scored runs in six of the eight innings it hit and rolled to a 10-2 victory over the Baysox Saturday night.

Despite the loss, Bowie (15-14) remained in first place in the Eastern League's Western Division, holding a half-game lead. The division is very tight, with just two games separating the six teams in it.

Wynn Pelzer (1-2) had been almost unhittable at times until this start, but the Bowie pitcher gave up eight runs on 10 hits in just five innings as the SeaWolves took an 8-1 lead.

The Baysox had some chances but went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base. Ronnie Welty hit a solo homer, and Greg Miclat got an RBI single to score the other run.
