Bowie breaks three-game losing streak as Clark throws five shutout innings and key hits lead to 4-1 victory
It might have been an early-morning game, but Bowie was awake, getting good pitching and timely hitting to break a three-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory in Richmond on Wednesday.
Zach Clark (1-0) started in place of Chorye Spoone, who got called up to Triple-A. Clark went five scoreless innings. Raul Rivero gave up one run on one hit in three innings, and Jose Diaz closed it for his second save in the game that began at 10:35.
Caleb Joseph got an RBI single in the fourth to make it 1-0. Ronnie Welty’s homer gave Bowie a 2-0 edge in the sixth. The Baysox added two in the ninth thanks to a Billy Rowell RBI single and a Carlos Rojas RBI double.

The win improved Bowie’s record to 2-4 on the young season. The Baysox have their home opener Thursday night at Prince George’s County Stadium.
