Bryce Harper, More Cowbell at Saturday’s Baysox Game

The Baysox will attempt to break the world record for cowbell ringing during Saturday's matchup against the Senators.

Clanging cowbells, fireworks and a major league star should make for noisy and exciting seven innings at Prince George's Stadium Saturday.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper has been spending his evenings in Bowie this week, battling the Baysox while on a rehab assignment with the Harrisburg Senators.

Harper led the Senators to an 11-7 victory over the Baysox Thursday night and is expected to take the field in Prince George’s Stadium again on Saturday night. Harper is rehabbing from bursitis in his knee, and played a few games with Class-A Potomac before moving up to the Senators. He’s expected to be in shape to face off with the Nats against Milwaukee on Monday, according to USA Today.

Also on Saturday, the Baysox will attempt to break the the cowbell playing world record during what’s being called Extreme Noise Night. The first 1,500 registered fans will get a free cowbell to ring in an effort to break the previous world record of 1,003 cowbells clanging in unison, according to a press release.

If 1,500 clanging cowbells aren’t noisy enough, the game will finish off the the Baysox signature fireworks show.
