Bowie State Football Ends Losing Skid

Bulldogs win on the road at Lincoln, play on Saturday at Elizabeth City in North Carolina.

An old-fashion rushing attack was the key for the Bowie State football team as it ended a three-game losing streak.

The Bulldogs had 305 yards on the ground, and just 58 via the air, in a 22-10 win on Friday night against Lincoln in West Grove, PA.

Tariq Jones, a Bowie State senior, ran for a career-high 171 yards on 33 carries as the Division II Bulldogs improved to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the CIAA.

“The win was something we definitely needed, but Tariq played a great game tonight and answered the bell as our senior running back and we knew we had to run the ball in order to be successful," Bowie State head coach Damon Wilson said on the Bowie State athletic website.
