Bowie Loses Again, Playoff Bid in Trouble

Erie tops Baysox, 4-1; Bowie 1 1/2 games out with just two left in playoff chase

The Baysox may have played themselves right out of the playoffs.

Bowie suffered its eighth loss in the last 10 games Saturday night, dropping a 4-1 decision to Erie. That, combined with Richmond's 6-3 victory over Altoona, pushed the Baysox l 1 1/2 games behind Richmond with just two to play in the fight for the division's final playoff spot.

To make matters worse, Richmond won it in dramatic style, scoring a 14-inning victory.

Bowie now has a 73-66 record with Richmond ahead at 75-65. The Flying Squirrels have gone 6-4 while the Baysox have slid downhill and all but blown a playoff bid.

The Bowie offense continued its recent struggles. They managed just three hits, went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left 10 on base. That was the big reason they lost.
