Bowie Falls to Erie, Slips Out of Second

The 9-2 defeat, plus Richmond's win, pushes Bowie 1/2 game behind Flying Squirrels for last playoff spot.

Bowie's late-season problems continued Friday night as Erie came to town and handed the Baysox a 9-2 defeat at Prince George's Stadium.

That loss, combined with Richmond's win, put the Flying Squirrels one-half game ahead of Bowie for the final playoff spot in the Western Division with three games left.

The Baysox trailed from the start in this game as Erie scored a run in the first and used a five-run fifth to break the game open and take a 7-0 lead.
