Baysox Win Home Opener, Edge Erie, 2-1
Baysox take 2-0 lead early, five pitchers combine on five-hitter for second straight victory.
Pedro Floirmon, Jr. hit a solo homer, and Ronnie Welty added an RBI single as five Bowie pitchers put together a five-hitter as the Baysox edged Erie, 2-1, Thursday night at Prince George's Stadium.
This was Bowie's home opener, and the Baysox now have won two straight games after a 1-4 start.
Florimon's homer gave Bowie a 1-0 lead in the second. Welty singled in Brandon Waring in the fourth. Waring led off the inning with a triple, and Welty followed with the single.

Cole McCurry (1-0) scattered three hits over three innings of relief and got the victory.
Jose Diaz closed it with a scoreless ninth to earn his third save.
