Baysox Win First, Top Harrisburg, 2-0
Brandon Waring's 2-run single in first holds up, six pitchers combine for shutout
Brandon Waring's two-run single in the first inning was enough, and six Bowie pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the Baysox earned their first victory of the season with a 2-0 shutout of Harrisburg Saturday night.
Waring's two-out, two-run single in the top of the first was the only scoring either team would get on a night where both wasted a number of chances. Bowie (1-1) went just 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position and stranded 13 overall.
Harrisburg (1-1) was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base.

Steve Johnson struck out five and walked four in his four innings of one-hit work. Eddie Gamboa (1-0) got the win after replacing Johnson and throwing one shutout inning. Jose Diaz got the save after a scoreless ninth.
Greg Miclat scored one of the two Bowie runs. He also went 3-for-4 overall with two stolen bases.
