Baysox Waste Big Lead, Fall to Akron
Aeros use six-run eighth to tie, get walk-off 10-9 victory Monday.
A six-run lead wasn't good enough for Bowie Monday night as Akron scored the game's final seven runs to stun the Baysox, 10-9, in the series opener.
Bowie banged out 15 hits and took leads of 5-0 and 9-3, but the bullpen couldn't hold it. Akron scored six runs in the eighth to tie the game and got the deciding run in the ninth.
The Baysox offense awakened again in this game. They finished with 15 hits and went 6-for-19 with runners in scoring position.

Pedro Florimon led the way by going 3-for-5 with three RBI. He homered and doubled twice. Xavier Avery and Brandon Waring also homered.
But the Bowie pitches had all kinds of control troubles, walking 12 batters overall, a big reason the Aeros left 17 on base. Armando Gabino (0-1) gave up the winning run in the ninth.
