Baysox Stretch Winning Streak to Five; Stay in First
Bowie scores 5-2 victory over Reading to hold on to half-game lead in Western Division
Bowie took command with a four-run second inning and never looked back en route to a 5-2 victory over Reading Thursday night, stretching its winning streak to five games.
The victory let the Baysox keep its one-half game lead over Harrisburg in the Western Division. In addition, Bowie (66-51) has a game in hand over Harrisburg (66-52).
The Baysox took charge in the top of the second. Brandon Waring got an RBI double -- he added a solo homer later in the game-- before Pedro Florimon's RBI single made it 2-0. Xavier Avery added an RBI single, and Greg Miclat made it 4-0 with a ground out.

Bobby Bundy (1-1) threw five shutout innings to earn his first Bowie victory. He recently came up with Class A Frederick and lost his first start.
Reading scored twice in the eighth after Bowie held a 5-0 lead, but that wasn't enough. Eddie Gamboa came out to slam the door in the eighth and then finished his five-out save with an easy ninth inning.
