Baysox Notebook: Bowie Bounces Back from Three-Game Losing Streak
The Baysox ended last week with two straight wins.
After enduring three straight losses during the middle part of last week, Bowie now enters its three-game road series with Reading, which begins Tuesday, on a two-game winning streak.
The Baysox beat New Hampshire, 5-3, Sunday night after beating the Fishers Cats 7-2 Saturday.
Bowie (63-51) trails Harrisburg by just a half game for first place in the Eastern League’s Western Division and owns a one-game advantage over Richmond for second place in the division.

HOES SHOWING NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN
With Sunday’s 1-for-3 performance against New Hampshire, Hoes has raised his batting average to a team-best .321. After batting just .242 in May, Hoes hit .310 in June, .349 in July and is hitting .350 thus far in August. He has reached base during nearly 45-percent of his plate appearances during the July and August, boasting a .431 on-base percentage during that span.

The 21-year old outfielder has tallied hits during eight of the last nine games, including multiple hits in three of those games.
He leads Bowie in both batting average and on-base percentage (.389), ranks second on the team in slugging percentage (.444) and is third in both RBI (44) and stolen bases (15). He has also slugged six home runs, all of which have come during July and August.
HUDSON TURNING THE CORNER AT NORFOLK
Despite struggling in his first stint with Class-AAA Norfolk in May, outfielder Kyle Hudson, a fourth-round pick of the Orioles in 2008, has fared much better his second time around.
The speedy 24-year old Hudson was promoted from Bowie to Norfolk in July, is batting .373 since being promoted after hitting just .197 during his first stint with the Tides in May.
For the year, between Class-A Frederick, Bowie and Norfolk, Hudson, who played both baseball and football at the University of Illinois, is hitting .288 and has recorded 29 stolen bases.
BUNDY STRUGGLES IN BAYSOX DEBUT
Former Orioles eighth-round pick Bobby Bundy, a right-handed starting pitcher, struggled in his first start with the Baysox after being promoted from Frederick last week.
Bundy, who was 11-5 with a 2.75 ERA in 20 starts for the Keys, yielded five runs (three earned), six hits and two walks in just two innings of work during Bowie’s 11-3 loss to New Hampshire Friday.
