Baysox Lose Third Straight, Fall Out of Last Playoff Spot

Bowie drops 2-0 decision to Altoona, slips one-half game behind Richmond for final playoff spot.

The Baysox lost their third straight game Wednesday, and Altoona's 2-0 victory over Bowie pushed it out of second place in the Western Divison.

Richmond's 8-4 victory over New Britain put the Flying Squirrels (73-64) in second place, one-half game ahead of Bowie (72-64) for the final playoff spot in the division. Both teams now have five games left in the season.

Bowie pitcher Tim Bascom (8-4) struck out 10 and gave up just five hits in seven innings. He gave up a two-run homer to Andrew Lambo in the top of the first and nothing else, but the Baysox couldn't score.
