Baysox Fall to Richmond Monday Night
Richmond jumps ahead early and holds on for 4-2 victory over Bowie in the first of the three-game series.
The Baysox struggled again on offense Monday night as Richmond jumped ahead early and pulled out a 4-2 victory in an Eastern League game.
The Flying Squirrels scored three runs in the first two innings and, even though they didn't get on the board again after the fourth, that was enough to beat Bowie (1-3) in the opener of a three-game series.
Bowie got a solo homer from Brandon Waring in the second and an RBI single from Jeff Fiorentino in the third. But the Baysox never scored again.

Tim Bascom (0-1) gave up four runs on nine hits in five innings. But Wynn Pelzer came on in relief for Bowie and threw three perfect innings.
The two teams meet again Tuesday night in Richmond.
