Baysox Fall In 10th Inning

Akron scores twice in 10th on homer to beat Bowie, 4-2

Chun Chen hit a two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning to give Akron a 4-2 victory over the Baysox Saturday night at Prince George's Stadium.

Bowie (18-18) forced extra innings when Ronnie Welty hit a solo homer in the eighth. That tied the game at 2, and it stayed that way until Chen hit his second homer of the game -- a two-run shot off of Pedro Viola.

That was Chen's second homer of the game. He also got a solo shot earlier.

Bowie's offense continues to have problems. The Baysox now have scored only two runs in the last 18 innings, something that's given them trouble all season long.
