Baysox Fall Again, Lead for Playoff Spot Shrinks to 1/2 Game
Altoona tops Bowie, 5-1, and Baysox lead Richmond by just 1/2 game for last playoff spot
The Baysox couldn't climb out of an early hole and again wasted a number of good scoring chances as Altoona handed them a 5-1 loss Monday night.
Altoona knocked out Bowie starter Armando Gabino (5-3) after just one-third of an inning. The Curve's first four batters got hits, and Gabino retired the fifth before walking the sixth, and manager Gary Kendall pulled him. Altoona had a 4-0 lead before Bowie came to bat.
The Baysox came up with a number of scoring chances but couldn't come through at the right time again. Bowie finished with nine hits but went just 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and stranded 11 batters.
