Baysox Fall 5-0 in Season Opener Against Senators

The Bowie Baysox couldn't get the momentum swinging their way in their first loss of the season in Harrisburg.

The Bowie Baysox struck out in their season opener Thursday night—literally.

Four Harrisburg pitchers combined to fan 15 Bowie hitters as the host Senators blanked the Baysox, 5-0, in the season opener for both teams. Bowie had its chances but went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left five on base.

Bowie starter Chorye Spoone—a Pasadena, MD native—went three innings and gave up three runs on three hits with three strikeouts. But he walked five batters, two of which came in a three-run third inning that gave Harrisburg the lead for good.
