Baysox Edge Past Rock Cats

The Bowie Baysox came back from an early lead to top New Britain 3-2.

The bottom of the Baysox lineup carried the offense to a 3-2 victory Thursday night over the New Britain Rock Cats. The bottom four hitters racked up all three of the team’s runs, four of their six hits and all three RBIs.

The Rock Cats were off to an early lead with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first, but Bowie was able to come back improving their record to 57-46 on the season.

Bowie scored first in the fifth on a bunt by Pedro Florimon that brought DH Buck Britton home after a lead off triple. Ronnie Welty singled in the top of the seventh, driving in two RBIs, putting the Baysox on top.

Tim Bascom allowed two runs on eight hits, pitching six innings and striking out a season high eight batters. He gets his seventh win on the season and went 4-0 in his five starts this month.
