Atkins gives Bowie good start as Baysox snap two-game losing streak

Bowie bounced back after being shut out in two straight games to pull out a 2-1 victory over Harrisburg on Wednesday night.

Mitch Atkins (1-0) gave up just one run on six hits in 7 2/3 innings to help Bowie (14-12) win and move back into first place. Jose Diaz pitched the ninth for his 10th save this season.

Robbie Widlansky drove in one run with a double, and Brandon Waring's sacrifice fly in the sixth gave the Baysox the winning run.
