Richmond pitcher Ryan Verdugo threw eight solid innings to keep Bowie's offense quiet en route to a 4-0 victory over the Baysox Thursday night at Prince George's Stadium.
Bowie got just two hits off Verdugo, who also struck out 10 and walked just one. The Baysox didn't even threaten until the ninth but couldn't get anyone home.
Richmond scored twice in the first off Bowie starter Zach Clark (5-4), who gave up three runs on eight hits in eight-plus innings. The Flying Squirrels added two in the ninth.
