Baysox Bats Awaken In 6-0 Rout Of New Britain

Bowie hits three homers, and three pitchers combine for two-hit shutout

The Baysox hit three homers, and three Bowie pitchers combined for a two-hitter as Bowie rolled to a 6-0 victory over New Britain at Prince George's Stadium Saturday night.

Wynn Pelzer (2-6) gave up just two hits in 5 1/3 innings. He battled control troubles, walking six while striking out only two. But Cole McCurry and Jose Diaz combined to hold the Rock Cats hitless in the final 3 2/3 innings.

Brandon Waring got a two-run homer while Robbie Widlansky and Caleb Joseph also hit solo shots. The Baysox were shut out in their two previous games.
