Baysox Bang Out 19 Hits, Rout B-Mets
Florimon and Lerud lead the way as Baysox roll to 14-6 road in Binghamton.
Pedro Florimon and Steven Lerud led a 19-hit Bowie attack that rolled to a 14-6 victory over the host Binghamton Mets in the series opener Thursday night.
Florimon went 3-for-5 with five RBI. He crushed a three-run homer as part of a six-run eighth inning that gave Bowie a 14-1 lead.
Lerud also had a big night. The catcher went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI.

Joe Mahoney also homered—a solo shot—as the Baysox finally came up with big hits at the right time. They went 9-for-17 with runners in scoring position and ended up with the 19 hits.
Chorye Spoone (2-4) gave up one run on five hits 5 1/3 innings to get the victory.
